A collection of films featuring American child star Shirley Temple. The first two volumes include nine short films made in 1932 and now restored into full colour: 'Kid in Hollywood', 'Glad Rags to Riches', 'War Babies', 'Kid in Africa', 'The Kid's Last Fight', 'The Pie-Covered Wagon', 'Pollytix in Washington', 'Our Girl' and 'Merrily Yours'. Also included in the second volume is a retrospective documentary, 'The Biggest Little Star of the Thirties'. The third volume contains a restored, colourised version of the classic Shirley Temple drama 'The Little Princess' (1939), based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Temple plays young Sara Crewe, who is sent to boarding school by her rich and patriotic father (Ian Hunter) so he can enlist and fight in the Boer War. When he is reported killed in the fighting however, leaving Sara penniless, the school's headmistress (Mary Nash) starts treating Sara like a slave. Unable to believe that her father is dead, Sara braves the cold streets of Victorian London to search for him in the military hospitals.
