George (Bob Hoskins) is a small time loser just out of prison. The only job he can find is to be a driver for Simone (Cathy Tyson), a beautiful high-priced call girl, with whom he becomes fascinated. But his fascination with her leads him on a dangerous quest through the sordid underbelly of London. Only Simone’s playing a dangerous game, and when George agrees to help her, they both end up in a huge amount of trouble with Mortwell, the local Kingpin (Michel Caine).

Mona Lisa is the breakthrough film from acclaimed director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, The Company of Wolves, The Brave One).

Gritty tale of life in the shadowy world of underage prostitution

Hoskins plays a man who's no shrinking violet but even he is taken aback when he gets involved in this seedy world. A dark film well acted that seldom comes up for air.
