Triple bill of chilling thrillers. In the horror sequel, 'Paranormal Activity 2' (2010), a young couple are terrorised by a mysterious, demonic presence in their new home. When Katie (Katie Featherston) and her boyfriend Micah (Micah Sloat) move into a new house in the suburbs of San Diego, Katie worries that a ghostly presence that has haunted her since her youth has followed her to their new home. She hires paranormal experts to help her, but Micah decides to take matters into his own hands and attempts to capture any supernatural phenomena on camera. However, his involvement only serves to taunt the demons that haunt Katie, and before long the situation has escalated into a horrific nightmare from which no one can save them. 'Case39' (2009) is a thriller shot in Vancouver, directed by Christian Alvart and starring Renee Zellweger, Ian McShane and Jodelle Ferland. Emily Jenkins (Zellweger) is a family services social worker, assigned to a new case involving a ten-year-old girl named Lilith (Ferland). As she investigates, Emily soon realises that the troubled Lilith is in real danger from her parents, so she takes her in herself and offers to look after her until a suitable foster home can be found. However, she discovers to her horror that the situation is far worse than she suspected. Supernatural horror 'The Uninvited' stars Emily Browning as Anna, a young woman who returns home to her family, including her much-loved sister, Alex (Arielle Kebbel), after a spell in a mental hospital following the death of her mother. Her recovery is hampered by the presence of a mysterious new stepmother, Rachael (Elizabeth Banks), and various ghostly happenings in the family home. When Anna sets out to discover the true identity of her father's new wife, she uncovers a truth more shocking than she could have imagined.
