Wolfgang Reichsgraf Alexander Berghe von Trips good looks made him the epitome of the dashing 1950’s racing driver.
Born in to an aristocratic German family near Cologne, he earned a stormy reputation for erratic driving early in his career, but shrugged that aside in 1961 when he was on the verge of winning the World championship.
His popularity with fellow competitors and spectators was unique as becomes obvious as we follow Von Trips short but spectacular career.
