Richard Harris gives an outstanding performance in the extraordinary story of a man captured by Sioux Indians and subjected to mental and physical tortures to prove his manhood in their savage culture.

Customer Reviews

Worthy effort to show life from the Indian perspective

John Wayne western it isn't. The only valid criticism ironically is its realism. A lot of the dialogue is Indian (is that a surprise) and the account is graphic and downbeat but nobody can say it's far fetched. Some think it's a masterpiece, but as entertainment? judge for yourself.
