Rose, an optometrist paralyzed by grief, builds a wall around herself but when a patient begins to visit her office unannounced, Rose understands his loneliness and urges him to ask for help. Meanwhile Simon, a lonely teenager, photographs people from a distance and captures Rose on one of his films. The pictures result in a way out for each of them from their self-imposed exile.

Even surrounded by Manhattan's millions, New Yorkers are just as likely to feel lonely as people who live in literal isolation. Heather Graham, Victor Rasuk, and Dominic Chianese star in this drama about three city dwellers whose lives are intertwined in unexpected ways.
