It has been 36 years since England last beat the West Indies in their own backyard thanks to some match winning performances from Steve Harmison, Graham Thorpe, Matthew Hoggard and Andrew Flintoff.

It all started with a tremendous bowling performance by Harmison in Jamaica where he took a staggering 7 for 12;

In Trinidad England cruised to a seven wicket victory with the help of that man Harmison's 6 for 61 and Thorpe's 90 in the first innings.

Then to Barbados where in the first innings Flintoff bowled 5 for 58 and Thorpe's 119 not out rekindled England's chances of a win. Some explosive bowling by Hoggard in the second innings where he grabbed three wickets in a row destroyed the West Indies middle order.

And to top off a fabulous Test series Lara restored some home pride in Antigua by scoring a world record 400 not out which left England struggling to complete the whitewash they so wanted.
