Directed by Anthony Asquith the silent melodrama and thriller A COTTAGE ON DARTMOOR explores the disturbing aspects of jealousy and crimes of passion. The movie narrates the story of Joe (Ugo Henning) a barber consumed by his passion for his girlfriend Sally (Nora Baring) a manicurist. When Sally ends up paying too much attention to one of her customers Harry (Hans Schettow) the intensity of Joe’s obsession pushes him to slit the mans throat.
