In his most epic adventure yet, Robson’s journey spans 14 countries and four continents. Along the way, he does more than just catch a lot of fish! Like never before, Robson also experiences the heart and soul of the local communities for whom fishing is not a hobby…it’s survival.
Amongst many things, Robson finds himself attempting to settle a score with an old nemesis in Kenya; practicing an extraordinary Octopus-fishing technique in China; dicing with death in Japan and coming face to face with the ferocious Bull Shark in Florida. Doing battle with some of the deadliest, strongest, heaviest and fastest, will he need a bigger boat?!
Having dipped in out of the water when it came to the first two series of Extreme Fishing with Robson Green, Series Three had me completely hooked!
With 12 forty-five minute episodes, its the longest series so far and thus the DVD represents great value for money when you're effectively getting a Round The World Trip for a few quid!
I've never been a massive fan of Robson Green - The Actor. However Robson Green - the globetrotting fisherman, is an absolute hoot! As the back of the DVD sums up, Robson travels just about everywhere in his search for the greatest fishing experiences. Not just focussing on the fish, this particular series has a travelogue feel to it, taking in some incredible scenery and also giving attention to the locals who Robson meets and befriends along the way. In the space of a few hours I've never been to so many places!
Highlights for me, without revealing too much, are his trips to Cuba, where you really get a sense of what its like to live there, India, which is probably the most humorous episode, and Sri Lanka, where Robson meets an absolute legend! And in terms of pure extremeness, it doesn't get more extreme than Robson attempting to reel in a shark! He genuinely seems so enthusiastic about his fishing hobby and you can't help but share his enthusiasm, regardless of how exciting a Marlin or Barracuda may seem!
Such a great show that really works on DVD.
