High Plains Drifter - Clint Eastwood once again portrays the Man With
No Name in this bleak morality play about a man who protects a frontier town
from outlaws more out of contempt for the outlaws than love for the cowardly
townspeople. This dark moody almost supernatural western was Eastwoods second
directorial effort following the very successful Play Misty For Me.
Joe Kidd - In New Mexico in the late 1890s the fiery Louis Chama (John Saxon) leads a group of Mexican-American peasants in a fight for their land after the evidence of their ownership has been destroyed in a questionable courthouse fire.
The Beguiled - Set in the Deep South during the Civil War, the film stars Eastwood as John McBurney, a severely wounded soldier who is near death when discovered by a teenage girl. She takes him to the mansion that serves as her boarding school, where he slowly begins to regain his health under the care of headmistress Martha Farnsworth (Geraldine Page) and the dozen or so girls who live there.
Three great westerns by the man. Each one with its own style and storyline.
