The first two series of the BBC drama about the intrigues behind the scenes of a 1950s investigative current affairs television programme. The first series follows up-and-coming BBC reporters Bel Rowley (Romola Garai) and Freddie Lyon (Ben Whishaw) as they join new investigative programme 'The Hour' and rapidly find themselves caught up in a dark and dangerous political conspiracy. In the second series, with the fallout from the political scandal finally subsiding, producer Bel finds her attention increasingly preoccupied with Britain's growing criminal underworld. Meanwhile, eager to steer clear of the new Head of News, Randall Brown (Peter Capaldi), anchor Hector Madden (Dominic West) finds himself drawn into the seductive glamour of Soho nightclub El Paradis.
