This epic World War II film focuses on the final days of the war, when the French attempted to liberate Paris, and the Nazis made a last-ditch effort to destroy the city before their retreat. Employing a documentary style, the movie shows the Paris uprising, the German armys efforts to stop the French Resistance, the Allied troops arrival in the city and their eventual victory over the Germans. Jean-Paul Belmondo, Kirk Douglas, Orson Welles, Leslie Caron, Glenn Ford, Charles Boyer, and Anthony Perkins headline a star-studded cast. Gore Vidal and Francis Ford Coppola were contributors to the screenplay.
