One of rock’s guitarist gurus, Pat Travers branches out in many different ways, places and with many excellent musicians. Travers was playing guitar before he reached his teens, but it was the fascination and magic of a Jimi Hendrix concert that first inspired him to become a rock guitarist. After several years playing in rock clubs around Quebec he was asked by legendary 50's rock’n’roller, Ronnie Hawkins, to go on tour with him. Despite the difference in musical style, Travers used the experience to further develop his skills. Soon after and enthralled by the allure of Europe, he moved to London, focused and enraptured by his new musical career as a solo artist.

After signing to Polydor, Travers quickly released his highly acclaimed first self-titled album in 1976. Following an appearance at the Reading festival Pat continued to tour in front of huge audiences and released another two albums before heading to America. The US took to Travers like ducks to water and he gained a massive following and much critical acclaim for both his live shows and his studio albums. Of which “Live! Go For What You Know” (1979) and “Crash And Burn” (1980) entered the US top 30.

After bowing out of the studio for several years due to his disillusionment with the record industry he recorded “School Of Hard Knocks” in 1990, an album that was to prove a huge success amongst his fans and win him many new admirers. The 80's established him as one of the most distinctive guitarists in the scene, combining heavy metal riffology with moments of musical genius.

On tour most of the time, Pat performed an extremely impressive concert in the Diamond Club in 1990 which broke all expectations of his followers of the past 20 years. Inviting everyone to his hometown, Toronto, Canada, he mesmerized an entire crowd of his top fans for what was talked about for ages. Cracking out some of his biggest and most renown rock-hymn hits like “I La La La Love You”, “Daddy Long Legs”, “Snortin’ Whiskey”, as well as title song “Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights)”. The uproar from the audience was the sign of a true rock legend.

The night was one to remember and now on DVD (and for the first time ever also an audio CD), you can witness the living legend playing many of his best loved tunes to an ecstatic Toronto audience. Enjoy the enticing night of all the best from Travers live. Re-live all the moments, chanting and screaming from the crowd, his musical genius live on stage as well as the sight of an actual live performance from one of the all-time greatest guitar phenomenons. Digitally re-mastered and put into top quality, now is finally the time to re-live the night that made history with “Boom Boom – Live At The Diamond 1990”
