You play as Nathan Hale, a U.S. soldier immune to the Chimera’s mutagenic virus Chimera spaceships appear over the America's coasts Resistance is set in an alternative 1953, where World War II never happened Fans originally accused the monster in the movie Cloverfield of being inspired by the Chimera Although the single-player story mode features much more variety than the original, with many new weapons and Godzilla-sized enemy bosses, the game’s real appeal has always been the multiplayer. There’s now a whole separate story mode to play co-operatively with friends, either in split screen mode or with up to seven people online.
There were some complaints that the original played the first-person shooter formula a little too safe, but the unique new 60-person online versus mode should help to silence most critics for this sequel.
Resistance 2 is a good game, but something was just missing. The first one managed to leave a much greater impact on me. Maybe it was because it was my first PS3 shooter, maybe it's because I got hooked on Call of Duty in the meantime, who knows. All in all, the game is good. But don't expect it to surprise you in any way.
Stuff I liked:
Ok story, awesome weapons return, Huuuuge bosses, Good coop and multiplayer
Stuff I disliked:
The game lacks personality, Gameplay can get repetitive at times
