The entire Emmy winning television series. Richard Chamberlain plays an English sailor who finds himself cast ashore in 17th Century Japan, and it's not long before he is taken under the wing of a powerful warlord to become the first Western samurai warrior. Adapted from James Clavell's novel, the early dialogue scenes were in Japanese and when the series was re-broadcast in 1983, as a result of initial complaints, these scenes were narrated by Orson Welles. The series also caused a stir due to scenes of violence and nudity.
