The Gloucester Warwickshire Railway runs for about ten miles between Toddington in the North and Cheltenham Race Course Station in the South. As visitors to the GWR travel across the stretch of the picturesque Vale of Evesham over which the line extends, they also get marvellous views of the prominent Cotswold and Malvern Hills. We visited this friendly, well equipped, line to make this programme during one of its `Steam Gala Days` and were kept fully entertained while riding on, or watching, passenger and freight trains headed by restored GWR locomotives such as the famous 4-4-0 `City of Truro` or the 4-6-0 `Kinlet Hall` going through their paces.
