These terms and conditions set out the full extent of any agreement between you and Base.com. By placing an order with us you agree to be bound by Base.com's terms and conditions set out below.

Contract for the Supply of Goods

  • Base.com is a trading name of Online Commerce Ltd., Unit 44, Rissington Business Park, Upper Rissington, Cheltenham, Glos. GL54 2QB.

  • No contract for the supply of goods will subsist unless and until an email is sent by Base.com to you confirming that your order has been shipped (this does not include our order receipt email). This confirmation email amounts to an acceptance by Base.com and is effective regardless of whether or not you receive the email.

  • Base.com are free to withdraw from a prospective contract at any time prior to acceptance.

  • Non-book items priced less than £18.00 may be fulfilled by Online Commerce GmbH (Switzerland) based on stock availability. This will be confirmed on the dispatch email. Delivery from Online Commerce GmbH (Switzerland) is still by Royal Mail First Class Post and takes on average 3 to 4 days.

Payment

  • Base.com accepts payment by credit or debit cards.

  • Your card will not be charged until your order is dispatched.

Our Prices

  • All prices listed on the site include VAT (where appropriate). European shipments will incur a postage and packing fee. This will be displayed on checkout and varies dependent on the goods ordered.

  • At our discretion larger parcels may be sent by courier.

Price Promise

  • Base.com continuously monitors other suppliers' websites and may modify prices accordingly to ensure we remain competitive. As a result, by the time your pre-order of a forthcoming release or your back-order of an out of stock title is dispatched, we may have changed the price on our site. Our Price Promise means that when your order is ready for dispatch, we compare the current price of the title against the price we quoted at the time of your order, and we only charge you the lower of the two.

Availability

  • In the case where the item is out of stock at Base.com and at our suppliers, you will be notified by email of the expected delivery date.

  • Product availability is subject to change without notice.

Pre-Ordering

  • If an item has not yet been released, you can place a pre-order for it. We will hold your order for you and will process it as soon as the item is available.

  • Generally, we dispatch new releases on the working day prior to the release date.

Postage and Packing Charges

  • Base.com ships to the following countries. The cost of postage will be shown at the checkout stage.

  • Inclusive UK shipping does not apply to special offers and voucher redemptions.

Delivery Times

  • Orders fulfilled by Base.com and shipped to UK addresses typically arrive within 1-3 days. Please allow 16 days before enquiring about lost or missing items.

  • Orders fulfilled by Online Commerce GmbH (Switzerland) and shipped to UK addresses typically arrive within 3-5 days. Please allow 16 days before inquiring about lost or missing items.

  • Orders shipped to European addresses typically arrive within 5-7 days. Please allow 20 days before inquiring about lost or missing items.

  • Orders shipped to the Rest Of The World typically arrive within 5-10 days. Please allow 25 days before inquiring about lost or missing items.

  • Allow 6 weeks for deliveries to BFPO addresses.

  • Please allow additional time for your orders to arrive over the bank holiday weekends. We suggest allowing an additional 2-3 days for your packages to arrive to allow for delays within the mail.

  • It is up to you to make sure that your address details are entered correctly and accurately. We cannot be responsible for delivery problems caused by inadequate address details.

Custom Charges

  • NO customs charges are payable for items shipped to UK, Channel Islands or BFPO addresses.

  • On European shipments -

    • Items over £18 are shipped from the mainland UK and will not incur any customs charges.

    • Some items under £18 are shipped from the mainland UK and will not incur any customs charges.

    • Some items under £18 are shipped from Switzerland and, in some countries, may be subject to additional charges for import duties and taxes. Customs requirements vary from country to country and it is your responsibility to contact your local customs office for accurate information. Base.com is not responsible for these additional charges.

Cancellation

  • You may cancel your order online at any time prior to your order being processed as follows: If you are not already logged in, please click here to log on to your account. All your orders are listed. Please click "Details" for the relevant order. The items on this order are listed along with their respective statuses (e.g. "being processed", "dispatched", etc). If you wish to cancel all remaining items (i.e. all items that have not been dispatched) on this order, please click the "Cancel Order" button. However, if you wish to cancel an individual item, click the cancel button next to that item. If there is no cancel button, this is because the item has already been dispatched or cancelled.

  • Where you have already received the goods, you may cancel your order by informing us of this in writing any time up to seven days after receiving the delivery. Goods are to be returned to us unopened together with the original invoice. Base.com will then refund you the purchase price of the goods.

  • Base.com will not be liable for shipping costs if an item is returned unwanted.

Returns

  • What is most important to us is that shopping with Base.com is a simple, "hassle-free", process.

  • We are happy to accept returns of unwanted, faulty or damaged items. Please see our returns information by clicking here.

  • Please return the item wrapped securely to prevent damage, and include a note of the problem experienced and your original invoice.

  • We will not reimburse any postage costs. We provide a Freepost return address for Faulty or Damaged items.

  • If the item is no longer obtainable, we will refund your credit card.

  • We test all returned items and reserve the right to return the product to you at your expense if we cannot reproduce the fault on our equipment.

  • We advise that you test the item on alternative hardware prior to return.

Children

  • Base.com does not sell products for purchase by children. If you are under 18, you may use Base.com only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Privacy

  • Base.com retains a certain level of information about our customers in order that we can process orders you place with us and provide you with a convenient service when you return to our site.

  • The information you provide when registering will not be sold, lent or otherwise disseminated beyond Base.com, and we make every effort to secure any data we hold.

  • Credit card details are entered into our secure server using SSL technology (certified by Thawte), and are then stored on an off-line server.
