Customer Reviews

Sensitive portrayal of a traumatic time in George VI's life.

Heartfelt telling of a courageous and good man brought to his knees by a terrible stammer. Forced to become king by his less than dutiful brother, this tells the moving and true tale of a man coping with the worst handicap for a public speaker. If this film is anywhere near the truth, this man (without his impediment), would have been the ideal successor to George V.
