The Final Fantasy series takes its next step into the realm of online role playing in this multiplayer title that builds on the success of Final Fantasy XI.

Best known for its sweeping storylines and single player role playing, the Final Fantasy series took a step in a bold new direction with Final Fantasy XI, creating a fully-realised Final Fantasy world for players to explore with others online. Final Fantasy XIV builds on the complex online system of the original title with more refined gameplay and a healthy visual upgrade. With the realm of Eorzea under threat once again, players must roam its plains and join forces with players out to defend their home.

Before entering Eorzea, players are given access to a comprehensive character creation system, allowing them to form their own online avatar from a vast selection of races and character types. Players can also choose between a number of disciplines to use in combat, allowing them to concentrate on hand-to-hand or magical abilities.

Final Fantasy XIV Online improves upon the solid foundations of its online predecessor, refining combat and exploration to help make the series more accessible and rewarding.
