Pilates Back & Posture

Pilates has been used for years by exercise professionals, physiotherapists and dancers to increase strength and improve back and posture. This programme demonstrates how you too can improve your overall wellbeing by having good posture which protects your back from injury whether it is through sport or just day to day activities.

Just a few minutes of these specially designed exercises every day can help back problems and make you look longer and leaner. This programme has several split level workouts to enable you to start and progress through degrees of difficulty at your own pace.

This programme will streamline your body so you not only look great but feel great too!

Back Pain & Posture - Ten Minute Method Workouts

Joey Bull's superb new workout DVD the 4 x UK Fitness Champion and international trainer concentrates on a vital but often ignored body part - the back.

Joey's series of 10 minute workouts for Back Pain and Posture caters for straight, curvy or rounded back types and includes a special section for those who spend much of their time sitting at a desk or at the wheel of a vehicle.

With Joey's guidance you will be able to regularly and gently exercise your back and benefit from a stronger and healthier body.

“Our back is critical to personal mobility and wellbeing yet many people suffer discomfort or serious debilitating pain. My series of carefully devised ten minute workouts will help you train, refine and strengthen your back, improve posture and protect it against injury.”

Gymball for Back Pain & Posture

Bad posture is a bad habit that tends to come about through today’s sedentary lifestyle. Days spent driving or slumped over a computer wreak havoc with our alignment and an increasing number of adults will suffer in their later years with back or neck pain due to these postural habits.

This programme will look at ways of improving posture, strengthening essential postural and core muscles as well as mobilising the joints.  We are going to counteract the amount of time spent leaning forwards, reducing the amount of stress placed on the spine and supporting joints and ligaments. We will also examine specific postural types offering exercises from throughout the programme particularly beneficial for each.

The Ball is a fantastic tool for us to use to improve posture and strengthen those deep core muscles. Due to its unstable surface it is very difficult to slouch on as you would simply fall off! Everything we do on the ball works the small stabiliser muscles and due to its round nature, it allows us a much greater range of movement than if we were to perform the same exercise on the floor.

Improving posture is not only to avoid back and neck pain. It can make you look slimmer, more attractive and it is a real reflection to the outside world of how we see ourselves.  It improves breathing, circulation which can result in less cellulite as well as better overall functioning of the body.

Ultimately though, having better posture, strength and mobility will not only reduce your risks of back or neck pain later in life, but will give you a renewed confidence and poise.
