2001 - A Space Odyssey (Blu-Ray) - £7.29

2001: A Space Odyssey is arguably the most influential and important film of all time, and I was drawn in by every bit of it. It's very slow paced but in no way is it boring - this film is mesmerizing. My only criticisms are that I felt the opening sequence is a bit unnecessary, and as good as the stargate sequence was I felt it was just a tad too long. But those are just down to personal taste and dont take anything away from the quality of this magnificent film.

Blade Runner - The Final Cut (Blu-Ray) - £8.99

I watched Blade Runner for the first time last year and didnt enjoy it at all - it was very different to what I expected and at the end I just wasnt sure what to make of it. But for a long time after watching it I felt as if I had missed something, and my opinion of Blade Runner changed last week as I finally decided to give it another go...

I'm not sure why I didn't like it the first time because when I watched it again last week I sat there, completely absorbed for 2 hours as I marvelled at the amazing visuals, Vangelis' mystical score and the incredible atmosphere of a dystopian L.A. This film is nothing short of a masterpiece, and Ridley Scott's magnum opus.
