Over 90 min of rarely before seen interviews, documentaries, war footage and more from private libraries of veterans from WWII. This action packed and stunning DVD contains the following programs: ''Ploesti Raid'' - As the Allies struggled to gain the upper hand against Germany, a raid against the Romanian oil fields was designed to disrupt the Whermacht s ability to prosecute the war. B-24 s executed their low level attack on Germany. ''Schweinfurt and Regensburg'' - As the Allies focused on strategic bombing of German industry, the ball bearing plants at Schweinfurt became a top priority. In the first two raids during August of 1943, the Americans lost 94 of their precious bombers. ''Maximum Effort'' - In 1943 the skies over Germany were still very much contested by the tenacious pilots of the Luftwaffe. As losses of bombes and aircrew mounted the Allies began a systematic plan to clear the skies of the dreaded German fighters. ''Pacific Milk Run'' - As the Americans pushed deeper into Japanese controlled territory, the bombers and fighters of the US Navy and Army Air Corp went on Milk Runs to interdict Japanese shipping and bomb the harbors and ports in the island chains of the Marshalls, Gilberts and Caroline Islands. ''Superfort'' - Perhaps no other bomber during WWII produced more fear than the Boeing B-29 ''Superfortress''. With its advanced technology and heavy payload the B-29 rained havoc down on the cities of Japan.
