It was 1981 and yet again England looked down the barrel of defeat to Australia in the Third Test match at Headingly; a defeat which would also condemn them to another Ashes loss. With a handful of wickets remaining, in their second innings, England still trailed the Aussies and out to the crease came Ian Botham, a man who had been relieved of the England captaincy earlier in the series.

What was to follow would argueably be English cricket's defining moment. With a swashbuckling century Botham gave England a sniff of chance, and then himself and Bob Willis went on a rampage to tear through the Aussies. The amazing comeback triggered self belief in the team and they would perform further heroics in the remaining test matches to go on and win back the Ashes.
