The first UK DVD release of this cracking western boxset containing: Shotgun, Hellgate and Panhandle. Shotgun Ben Thompson (Guy Prescott) is looking to kill Deputy Marshal Hardin (Sterling Hayden) and his mentor, Fletcher, for putting him in prison. Ambushing Fletcher with a shotgun, Thompson misses Hardin who vows revenge on Thompson by tracking him down and killing him with the same shotgun that killed his mentor. On the hunt for Thompson, Hardin comes across the gun-toting hellcat Abbey (Yvonne DeCarlo) and his bounty hunter rival Reb Carlton (Zachary Scott). Carlton isn't shy about wanting Abbey for himself and as the unlikely trio close in on Thompson, their rivalries and jealousies threaten to descend into bloodshed... Hellgate As the Army closes in on renegade Confederates who refuse to abide by Civil War peace agreement, peaceful veterinarian Gil Hanley finds himself caught between these unforgiving combatants. When Hanley innocently treats the injuries of notorious Confederate outlaw Vern Brechene (James Anderson), he is unfairly accused of assisting a wanted outlaw. Railroaded in a military court, Hanley is imprisoned in the wretched Army prison in Hellgate, New Mexico, under the control of renegade-hating commander, Lieutenant Tod Voorhees (Ward Bond). With no fresh water or supplies, Hanley strikes up an uneasy partnership with fellow prisoner, Redfield (James Arness), to break out... Panhandle South-of-the-border trading post owner John Sands (Rod Cameron) has a secret past. Once a respected lawman, Sands soon became a gun slinging outlaw before being run out of the States. Learning that his brother has been murdered in the town of Sentinel, Sands ignores the advice of pretty hellcat 'Dusty' Stewart (Cathy Downs) and decides to track down his brother's killers. But his long-time adversary Matt Garson (Reed Hadley) decides to hire three killers: led by baby-faced Floyd Schofield (Blake Edwards) with orders to shoot Sands in the back, because no one can beat the ex-lawman in a face-to-face drawdown.
