Hungarian filmmaker Istvan Szabo writes and directs this coming-of-age drama. As a boy, Tako (Andras Balint) always convinced himself that his father, a doctor who was killed in World War II, died a hero's death fighting the Nazis. As he grows into a man, Tako determines to find out the truth about what happened to his father, and realises that there is no such thing as pure good or pure evil, only ordinary people trying to do their best in a difficult world.
