A drama which highlights the practice of female circumcision and superstition that is still prevalent in some parts of Africa. Six children aged between four and nine years old approach the day of the operation. In order to escape the ordeal two of them drown themselves in a well and the others seek magical protection (Moolaade) from a woman named Colle. A coloured rope represents the Moolade and no one dares to cross it to fetch the children. Only Colle can revoke the spell and when she refuses to do so it causes dissension and outrage which splits the village apart.
