A collection of short films from the 1960s, showcasing some of the most interesting and picturesque railroads in the world. The shorts, which were the product of extensive research conducted by Britain before renewing its own rail system, explore some of the most astounding railways ever built. Filmed in locations such as Peru, France, Japan and Austria, the films show impressive structures including the so-called 'Railway to the Moon', which climbed the Andes and required passengers to be given oxygen at 3.5 miles above sea level. The collection also includes interviews and contributions from railway staff and passengers. The films comprise: 'Other People's Railways', 'French Railways', 'The Tyrol With a Twist' and 'Railway to the Moon'.
