Vintage Tractors

More tractor enthusiasts gather for a great day out, presenter Gerry Burr and our cameras capture the

sights and sounds of these farmyard workhorses. Some of the tractors are restored to as-new condition,

whilst others are rusty and muddy like the day they were found. Big ones, small ones, rare, unusual and

ancient ones, this show featured a bumper tractor turn out; you’ve never seen so many tractors in one

place. Sit back and relax, and enjoy this second look at Vintage Tractors with Gerry Burr.

Tractors and Agricultural Machinery

Since childhood days the farmer’s tractor has been a familiar sight in the countryside. Every year

enthusiasts attend vintage vehicle rallies all over the country to see some of the rarest, oldest and

most interesting tractors in preservation today. In this programme we visit Abbey Hill Steam Rally in

Yeovil, Somerset to see tractors of different colours, shapes and sizes, some restored, and some as found.

Famous names like Ford, Marshall, Fergusson and many more. We also look at some real horse power

with heavy horses at Bromyard Gala in Herefordshire, and to finish our trip we see some interesting

agricultural machinery. Join Gerry Burr on a trip back in time with tractors and agricultural machinery.

Traction Engines

Discover the world of traction engines in this programme, presented by Gerry Burr. Beautifully preserved

rare models, from showman’s engines to humble ploughing engines, are shown steamed up and

on parade. Memories of days gone by are evoked by the engines’ wonderful colours, mighty power

and bursts of steam. Filmed at rallies all over the country, this programme paints an informative and

entertaining picture of era when steam power ruled.

Vintage Farm Machinery

The Lawrence family have lived at Isleport Farm for 100 years. By way of a celebration, they decided to

hold a vintage hay and harvesting day down on the farm, to show how some of the work would have

been carried out in times gone by. We sent Gerry Burr down to see what farming was like 100 years ago,

and to see how many machines developed from horse drawn days to horse power days. Gerry came

across some of the rarest machines in the world, including mowers made by farmers out of old cars and

bits of junk that still work today.
